Ranked as one of the most beautiful illuminations in France, the Montbéliard Lights are known and appreciated far beyond its borders. The Christmas market takes place every year from the last weekend in November around the Temple St Martin, and lasts for a month. It's an authentic market that showcases the skills of craftsmen and craftswomen, and promotes handmade products rather than industrial ones. Each year, a different region of France is highlighted, with its crafts, traditions and culture, and a whole programme is organised to help as many people as possible discover our heritage. Although the Montbéliard market is not as well known as the Christmas markets in Alsace, its charm and assets are enough to attract nearly 600,000 visitors every year.
